GOD BLESS AMERICA
As we witness the sun of favor rapidly setting on our once great nation, it puts a brand new ring to the invocation “God Bless America.” This wonderful patriotic song was composed by a Russian born man named Irving Berlin in 1918 and revised by him in 1938. We have all sang this song countless times through the years. None can deny that our existence & advancement has come by a God who has shed his grace on the U.S. Through wars, conflicts, & national disasters He has always brought us through to victory. We saluted & defended our flag in times of peril.
However like other great nations before us, we have allowed greatness to become our downfall. We have taken his grace for granted & felt like we could live any way we wanted to & treat God with disregard & certainly with disrespect. We became so self-sufficient & relied upon our wisdom and wealth to sustain us.
God has and God does bless America even now as we have blasphemed him by living wicked lives & passing laws that totally disregard his holy word, the Bible. As their cheers for evil and the thirst for blood in our streets, while diluted sermons from backslidden preachers without the courage or convictions to tell the people that judgment is destine to come upon those who forsake righteousness.
In summary, when I look at our nation today that loves evil more than good, saying God Bless America has a new emphasis with a true depth of desperation. The call has now become a cry God Bless America. Later will be too late it must happen now.
As we join our families & friends this 4th of July to celebrate our independence let us realize that once again we have found ourselves, not under the bondage of Britain but the forces of evil. Only God can help & I believe he would if only we would really pray “God Bless America”. 2Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

DO CHRISTIANS HATE HOMOSEXUALS?

DO CHRISTIANS REALLY HATE HOMOSEXUALS

For several years Christians have been accused of hating homosexuals. This charge has been reinforced by the new interpretations of our constitution by federal judges and liberal politicians. Since Adam & Eve and also the founding of our nation a marriage has always been between one man & one woman. Why is it that our present generation has accepted this life style as normal? Could it be because this generation & society is further removed from righteousness than any in American history? I ask the question “why did it take a post-Christian nation to accept such teachings.”
I personally do not believe that Christians hate homosexuals. I do believe they abhor their life styles. However I strongly believe that the homosexual community does hate true Christianity and its followers. Not only do they hate true believers but they hate Christ and his word as well. The reason I believe homosexuals hate Christ is because they deny his word & he is the Word incarnate. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. In Heb.10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
So we see that it’s impossible to love Christ and hate his word the Bible. There are countless scriptures that denounce the practice of homosexuality & to ignore them as if they aren’t there doesn’t change it. Ps 119:89 Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Its settle David said. Not preaching it doesn’t change God’s laws or being afraid to preach the truth because of what certain members or others think about it. We are told that those who love Christ seek to obey his word. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
I hate what seeing the acceptance of homosexuality has done to our nation, what it has done to our children, & I hate to watch AIDs victims constantly loose the battle and die because of this deception. Laws of men can never make right the things God says are wrong. When we stand before God in judgment we will not be judged by bylaws & doctrines of men but we will all be judged by what is written in the bible. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
So, if you love Christ then read & obey his word & prepare yourself for eternity. Some will say that I hate homosexuals because I wrote this blog, but if I hated them I wouldn’t take the time to address the subject. The fact is I love them & more importantly Christ loves them but to please him one must be born again & be transformed. John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Mic 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
These are God’s requirements & not man’s opinions. Obey God & turn from wickedness.

SIN IS NOT A DISEASE

 

I was listening to a local radio talk show recently that was promoting the efforts of the state and federal sponsored rehab program. It has long been understood that these programs offer little to no help to the addicted. Alcoholics Anonyms and a host of other well-known rehab centers are multimillion dollar businesses that are advertised as “not for profit”. The astounding reality is that the failure rate is so high. In my studies over the years it has shown the success rate to be between 1-5%. Here is an example: The results were in absolute contrast to the public perception of AA: “After just one month in the Fellowship [meaning AA,] 81% of the new members had already dropped out. After three months, 90% have left, and a full 95% have disappeared inside one year!” (Kolenda, 2003, Golden Text Publishing Company). These results are anything but impressive. I am certainly happy for those that it did help but if a practicing physician lost 95% or more of their patients I think they would shut them down.

Going back to the radio talk show, a lady testified how successful the program was because she had attended the program four times and is presently enrolled again. Then I heard her utter what I feel is the big problem. She referred to her addiction as a disease. She had been taught to think in these terms. See, if it’s a disease then it isn’t your fault so you shouldn’t feel badly about it. Everybody is a victim today it seems. Many will disagree with my next statement but I know I’m right from my own experience and that of many others. Addictions aren’t a disease they are results from bad choices that have allowed these sins to control and often ruin our lives. We don’t help the problem by calling it something other than what it is, sin.

I have witnessed the conversion of countless men & women throughout the years that were bound or addicted by everything imaginable. It wasn’t through a 10 or 12 step program but just 1 giant step to Jesus Christ. Ladies & gentlemen this is where the true help comes from.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.                                                                                                                                                                                                        John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

I have witnessed God transform lives as one preacher said “from the gutter most to the uttermost.” If sin and addictions are diseases then the blood of Jesus is the real and lasting prescription for it.

1 Cor 6:8-11 (8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. KJV

When you truly get born again the chains of sin will be broken. We are promised by the infallible Word of God that we will become a new person.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Apostle Peter was the man that Jesus gave the keys to the Kingdom,

Matt 16:18-19 (18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Peter was certainly not the first Pope since the Catholic Church didn’t officially begin until 325AD, but he was God’s spokesman on the Day of Pentecost when he delivered these keys to a lost world that needed a Savior.

Acts 2:37-39 (37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

So if you’re bound and want to be free, lost and want to be found, a looser and want to be a winner, and above all if you want to live in peace that passes all understanding and spend eternity with God then you must obey his Word. Don’t search for the easy paths of man-made doctrines and lifeless religions when Jesus offers each of us a personal relationship with Him. Are you sick or just need to get saved? WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW MIGHT DESTROY YOU

Several years ago I recall seeing a little cartoon that left quite an impact on me. It was a picture of a man cruising in his convertible sports car with the top down and a big smile on his face. It was obvious that he was enjoying a pleasure ride in his favorite car. He was so caught up in the moment that he didn’t notice the road sign that warned “road closed ahead.” The picture showed just around the curve construction workers had destroyed an old bridge to replace it with a new one. The driver couldn’t see around the curve and had overlooked the warning signs of impending danger he sped on to his own demise. The caption under the little cartoon simply stated “what you don’t know might kill you.”

Americans today are much like this man we are just traveling along thinking nothing could ever go wrong. In our height of earthly pleasures and carnal pursuits it is so far beyond our imaginations to suggest or think that something catastrophic is about to happen. Oh yes the signs and warnings are everywhere we look yet we can’t see them. We are having too good of a time for anything bad to happen. However, what we don’t know could very well lead to our destruction.

Matt 24:37-39 (37: But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38: For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39: And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The preaching of Noah was mocked and ignored by his generation very much like it is in our generation. Noah’s message was purity and not prosperity, he preached righteousness and not earthly riches, he preached mass destruction of the earth and the population and lastly he preached that the Arc was the only way of escape from the judgments to come. Noah preached endlessly for 120 years yet when judgment came they “knew not until the flood came.”

2 Peter 2:5: And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.

Actually none of us know how long it will be before God says he has had enough with this generation just like he did in Noah’s day. We don’t know what awaits us just around the next curve of life. Our only hope is to hear the voice of God through the lips of righteous preachers and obey the salvation plan he has for us today.

Rom 10:14: How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

God doesn’t want people to be lost and perish without him. Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people and hell is a prepared place for those unprepared. God is doing all he can to save sinners and make new creatures out of them.

2 Cor 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Peter 3:9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Don’t close your eyes nor turn a deaf ear to the voice of him who loves you most. This is our opportunity to makes things right with our creator.

Isa 55:6-7(6: Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

There is no justification in ignorance. We can never stand before him and defend ourselves by declaring “I didn’t know”.

Acts 17:30: And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.

Study the Holy Bible and more importantly obey its simple instructions for salvation as commanded in John 3:3-8 and Acts 2:38. If you don’t obey his word then “what you don’t know will ultimately destroy you.”
