I enjoy reading and listening to a variety commentators that share their view with the current events of our present society. Historically, ours is the first generation that has ruled and reigned from off the cuff and every unprecedented whim that comes to their minds. There seems to be little to no credibility to much of the trends we see that are becoming standard ways and means of behavior. However, it is right because they think it is and desire it to be that way. It hasn’t seemed to matter that we have laws that govern our way of life and determine right and wrong in society. Rather than complying to established laws that have been tested by time, they just lobby for politician, judges, & etc. that believe the same as they do and get them voted into office or appointed. This is why we have seen many states vote to stop these radical ideas only to see it fall into the hands of antiestablishment judges that overrule the voter’s choice to accommodate those who are bent on change regardless of the price to society. Through this procedures we have seen our once “One nation under God” turn into a Bible hating, prayer forbidding, antichrist country. This is why abortion on demand is the law today just as same sex marriages. The vast majority of voters objects to these practices and support the laws that forbade them in this nation for over 200 years. It doesn’t really matter what the truth is to these activist, it’s just how they feel about it that counts. One writer recently wrote “facts don’t matter anymore” it’s just however you feel. All of this is a recipe for sure failure and massive complications in our future. The scriptures plainly speak of the consequences for any nation or people that violate God’s principals.

Ps 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.                                                                                                                                                                                                            The laws that governed our country were founded upon the basis of God’s word. They have stood the test of time because they are established truths and not mere vile ideas and philosophies of the degenerate of the last days. Facts ladies and gentlemen do matter and only truth will prevail    ultimately.                                                                                                                                                                                                       Jer. 10:23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

One agnostic boldly declared recently that Christianity will become extinct. Voltaire made a similar statement over 200 years ago but he is long gone to meet his maker and Christianity is still very much alive and well. Why, because it is based upon truth and only truth will stand.Trials, tests, persecution, and hard times may come but to every child of God we stand secure knowing that we have done our best to stand for truth and in this wicked generation Truth will stand with us.                                                                             Heb. 13:5 I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

I was listening to a local radio talk show recently that was promoting the efforts of the state and federal sponsored rehab program. It has long been understood that these programs offer little to no help to the addicted. Alcoholics Anonyms and a host of other well-known rehab centers are multimillion dollar businesses that are advertised as “not for profit”. The astounding reality is that the failure rate is so high. In my studies over the years it has shown the success rate to be between 1-5%. Here is an example: The results were in absolute contrast to the public perception of AA: “After just one month in the Fellowship [meaning AA,] 81% of the new members had already dropped out. After three months, 90% have left, and a full 95% have disappeared inside one year!” (Kolenda, 2003, Golden Text Publishing Company). These results are anything but impressive. I am certainly happy for those that it did help but if a practicing physician lost 95% or more of their patients I think they would shut them down.

Going back to the radio talk show, a lady testified how successful the program was because she had attended the program four times and is presently enrolled again. Then I heard her utter what I feel is the big problem. She referred to her addiction as a disease. She had been taught to think in these terms. See, if it’s a disease then it isn’t your fault so you shouldn’t feel badly about it. Everybody is a victim today it seems. Many will disagree with my next statement but I know I’m right from my own experience and that of many others. Addictions aren’t a disease they are results from bad choices that have allowed these sins to control and often ruin our lives. We don’t help the problem by calling it something other than what it is, sin.

I have witnessed the conversion of countless men & women throughout the years that were bound or addicted by everything imaginable. It wasn’t through a 10 or 12 step program but just 1 giant step to Jesus Christ. Ladies & gentlemen this is where the true help comes from.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.                                                                                                                                                                                                        John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

I have witnessed God transform lives as one preacher said “from the gutter most to the uttermost.” If sin and addictions are diseases then the blood of Jesus is the real and lasting prescription for it.

1 Cor 6:8-11 (8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. KJV

When you truly get born again the chains of sin will be broken. We are promised by the infallible Word of God that we will become a new person.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Apostle Peter was the man that Jesus gave the keys to the Kingdom,

Matt 16:18-19 (18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Peter was certainly not the first Pope since the Catholic Church didn’t officially begin until 325AD, but he was God’s spokesman on the Day of Pentecost when he delivered these keys to a lost world that needed a Savior.

Acts 2:37-39 (37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

So if you’re bound and want to be free, lost and want to be found, a looser and want to be a winner, and above all if you want to live in peace that passes all understanding and spend eternity with God then you must obey his Word. Don’t search for the easy paths of man-made doctrines and lifeless religions when Jesus offers each of us a personal relationship with Him. Are you sick or just need to get saved? I want to say at the outset of this blog that nothing can stop you from living for God except YOU, because our salvation is a divine work of God. The contest of good versus evil started in the Garden of Eden and continues even today. Perfection on earth ended when disobedience and sin entered the human race. There will come a time when sin and death are conquered then God will establish His domain on earth & in heaven.

2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

However, until then Satan’s temptations and man’s weaknesses will battle against every effort we make towards righteousness. We are all helpless and could never accomplish our eternal goal except the grace of Jesus Christ be with us. He has empowered His children with unlimited power through His name Jesus.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

So we can’t use the excuse that we are just too weak and can’t life for God. We simply do our best and He takes care of the rest. Don’t allow your imperfections to hinder you from living for God.

2 Tim 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Through Christ we are assured throughout the scriptures that Satan, the flesh, and this present world can be defeated by those who walk in faith. So let’s forsake the copout used so often today the “nobody is perfect” philosophy and get back to trusting God to meet the promises His word has made.

 Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.   We have Christ in us so we can make it. He is an understanding and forgiving Heavenly Father.

Rom 8:31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?                                                                                                                                                                     So Get back up if you have fallen and try it again, this time with God’s anointing and I assure you that you can make heaven your home. Don’t let anything or anyone hinder you from your reward.

Titus 2:12-13 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
