GOD BLESS AMERICA

GOD BLESS AMERICA
As we witness the sun of favor rapidly setting on our once great nation, it puts a brand new ring to the invocation “God Bless America.” This wonderful patriotic song was composed by a Russian born man named Irving Berlin in 1918 and revised by him in 1938. We have all sang this song countless times through the years. None can deny that our existence & advancement has come by a God who has shed his grace on the U.S. Through wars, conflicts, & national disasters He has always brought us through to victory. We saluted & defended our flag in times of peril.
However like other great nations before us, we have allowed greatness to become our downfall. We have taken his grace for granted & felt like we could live any way we wanted to & treat God with disregard & certainly with disrespect. We became so self-sufficient & relied upon our wisdom and wealth to sustain us.
God has and God does bless America even now as we have blasphemed him by living wicked lives & passing laws that totally disregard his holy word, the Bible. As their cheers for evil and the thirst for blood in our streets, while diluted sermons from backslidden preachers without the courage or convictions to tell the people that judgment is destine to come upon those who forsake righteousness.
In summary, when I look at our nation today that loves evil more than good, saying God Bless America has a new emphasis with a true depth of desperation. The call has now become a cry God Bless America. Later will be too late it must happen now.
As we join our families & friends this 4th of July to celebrate our independence let us realize that once again we have found ourselves, not under the bondage of Britain but the forces of evil. Only God can help & I believe he would if only we would really pray “God Bless America”. 2Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

DO CHRISTIANS HATE HOMOSEXUALS?

DO CHRISTIANS REALLY HATE HOMOSEXUALS

For several years Christians have been accused of hating homosexuals. This charge has been reinforced by the new interpretations of our constitution by federal judges and liberal politicians. Since Adam & Eve and also the founding of our nation a marriage has always been between one man & one woman. Why is it that our present generation has accepted this life style as normal? Could it be because this generation & society is further removed from righteousness than any in American history? I ask the question “why did it take a post-Christian nation to accept such teachings.”
I personally do not believe that Christians hate homosexuals. I do believe they abhor their life styles. However I strongly believe that the homosexual community does hate true Christianity and its followers. Not only do they hate true believers but they hate Christ and his word as well. The reason I believe homosexuals hate Christ is because they deny his word & he is the Word incarnate. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. In Heb.10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
So we see that it’s impossible to love Christ and hate his word the Bible. There are countless scriptures that denounce the practice of homosexuality & to ignore them as if they aren’t there doesn’t change it. Ps 119:89 Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Its settle David said. Not preaching it doesn’t change God’s laws or being afraid to preach the truth because of what certain members or others think about it. We are told that those who love Christ seek to obey his word. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
I hate what seeing the acceptance of homosexuality has done to our nation, what it has done to our children, & I hate to watch AIDs victims constantly loose the battle and die because of this deception. Laws of men can never make right the things God says are wrong. When we stand before God in judgment we will not be judged by bylaws & doctrines of men but we will all be judged by what is written in the bible. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
So, if you love Christ then read & obey his word & prepare yourself for eternity. Some will say that I hate homosexuals because I wrote this blog, but if I hated them I wouldn’t take the time to address the subject. The fact is I love them & more importantly Christ loves them but to please him one must be born again & be transformed. John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Mic 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
These are God’s requirements & not man’s opinions. Obey God & turn from wickedness.

LOVERS OF PLEASURE

LOVERS OF PLEASURES MORE THAN LOVERS OF GOD

2 Tim 3:4mTraitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.
As Paul presents his catalogue of events and warning of the last days, he does so to enlighten us to the reality that we are indeed living in the time period known as “the last days”. Although many disagree with this fact, yet it is undeniable that there are incredible changes taking place in this world & time that demands our attention. Not so ironically these changes are all leading us farther away from God & his words.
One of these notable events is “lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God”. Please note that it doesn’t say pleasures are wrong, however when we love our pleasures more than we love God then we have a real problem. These end time pleasures are often if not always centered upon perversion, immorality, hate, & bias. The things people laugh at and rejoice in today would have been forbidden a generation ago. Crowds laugh & cheer as the entertainer uses the F bomb every other word. Christ & Christians are often made light of and are portrayed as uneducated simpletons & ignorant because we believe in God. These corrupt super stars haul in millions every year because people love them. Their crowds and following increases continually while church pews are emptying, they pay huge ticket prices but refuse to pay their tithes, & etc.
Nah 1:2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
In Daniel the 5th chapter we see a perfect example of our nation & world today. In this mist of partying, perversion, idolatry, & etc. we see the hand of God writing on the wall to declare the end of the party.
In the eyes of God mercy rejoices against judgment, however after man refuses to repent and turn from his wicked pleasures, God will indeed judge that individual or nation without mercy. God knows the heart and is cognitive of our points of affection. Jesus assures us we cannot serve two masters without loving one and hating the other. Sin brings pleasures for a season but eternal judgment reaps torment eternally.
I believe the Lord is coming soon to receive his children that have chosen to love him more than this world.

THOU ART THERE

                                                                                THOU ART THERE

Ps 139:7-12 (7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. 12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. (KJV)

Whether David pinned this Psalm or another author wrote it about him, it is a chapter filled with words of strength & hope that we find in other chapters of Psalms. The scriptures give us full account of the life of this great man referred to as the man “after God’s own heart”. As in the life of all those who follow God there were highs and lows, good times and bad times, and both victories and failures, yet he continued in the faith.

As Christians we all seek the answers & solutions to life’s problems so we can maneuver through each episode and hopefully keep the victory. We question within ourselves concerning those who we feel have really attained and achieved greatness. Do they pray & fast more than others, do they give more than others, does God favor some people more than others? I believe the key to David’s success is found in the text “thou art there”.  As a young lad in the fields at night keeping his father’s sheep surrounded by predators “thou art there”. When the growling wolf and bear approached the herd, God was there. When he met the challenge of Goliath, God was there. As a fugitive fleeing for his life God was there. In the cold & damp caves of seclusion, God was in that cave with him.

In summary it is quite evident that the key to our success is no difference, God is with us always. Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

As long as God is with us we are assured the victory. Is it any wonder he introduced himself as Emmanuel. Matt 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. And lastly Rom 8:31 If God be for us, who can be against us?
