SAVED BY A LAMB
Isa 53:4-5 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
This past Sunday service was so mightily blessed by the presence of the Lord. It seemed like every part of the service had a special anointing. Eld. T. Dabney sang the special and presented us a song that I had never heard before. He prefaced the song with his personal testimony and shared the story that led to the lyric of his song.
He told of a man that was putting on a roof and slipped somehow and fell from the huge roof. The fall would probably have broken his back or his limbs or possibly even killed him. Fortunately, as the man fell toward the ground no doubt thinking the worse awaited him when at that time a sheep walked past the workplace and the ailing roofer feel on top of the lamb and saved his life. Thus came the words to the song “Saved by a Lamb.”
I remember well when my life was in a free fall and no one could help me. Before I hit bottom and ended up in hell Jesus Christ the Lamb of God was there to catch me. What should have been the end of my life, I found that it was just the beginning of a brand new life that the Lamb had for me.
Surely this paints a picture all of us as each hour and day we fall deeper and deeper with nothing we can really do to change our eternal destiny. Then, when all hope is gone here comes the Lamb to catch us & save us from destruction.
Rom 3:22-25 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Don’t wait till you hit bottom & perish without the Lamb of God being there to save you, in fact he is the only one who can save us. In Christ you’ll find a life worth living that is filled with the blessings from God every day. Obey his words and trust him and he’ll take care of the rest.
Acts 2:38-39 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
