SAVED BY A LAMB

                                                                            SAVED BY A LAMB

Isa 53:4-5                                                                                                                                                                                      4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.                                                                                                                                                                               5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

This past Sunday service was so mightily blessed by the presence of the Lord. It seemed like every part of the service had a special anointing. Eld. T. Dabney sang the special and presented us a song that I had never heard before. He prefaced the song with his personal testimony and shared the story that led to the lyric of his song.

He told of a man that was putting on a roof and slipped somehow and fell from the huge roof. The fall would probably have broken his back or his limbs or possibly even killed him. Fortunately, as the man fell toward the ground no doubt thinking the worse awaited him when at that time a sheep walked past the workplace and the ailing roofer feel on top of the lamb and saved his life. Thus came the words to the song “Saved by a Lamb.”

I remember well when my life was in a free fall and no one could help me. Before I hit bottom and ended up in hell Jesus Christ the Lamb of God was there to catch me. What should have been the end of my life, I found that it was just the beginning of a brand new life that the Lamb had for me.

Surely this paints a picture all of us as each hour and day we fall deeper and deeper with nothing we can really do to change our eternal destiny. Then, when all hope is gone here comes the Lamb to catch us & save us from destruction.

Rom 3:22-25                                                                                                                                                                               22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:                                                                                                                                                             23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;                                                                                           24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:                                                25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Don’t wait till you hit bottom & perish without the Lamb of God being there to save you, in fact he is the only one who can save us. In Christ you’ll find a life worth living that is filled with the blessings from God every day. Obey his words and trust him and he’ll take care of the rest.

Acts 2:38-39                                                                                                                                                                              38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.                                                                                  39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

RESURRECTED LIFE

A RESURRECTED SAVIOUR BUT NOT A RESURRECTED LIFE

Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Easter is now past & rejoice in the great numbers of visitors that always attend our special services on Easter. This holiday commemorates the greatest miracle of all by witnessing Jesus coming back to life again after being dead for three days. Paul said that everything we as Christians believe in was predicated on Christ coming out of the grave on the third day

1Cor15:1418                                                                                                                                                         14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.  15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.                           18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

The tomb is empty and Christ has risen with victory of death, hell, & the grave. He did all that he said he would do although none believed him. Everything we celebrate concerning the resurrection is proven to be accurate. The problem with Christians is that they believe in the resurrection of Christ but not the individual resurrection of our new lives in Christ. Paul said we should walk in the newness of life. True Christians must live a transformed life void of the old nature of sin.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

We can no longer live in death of trespasses and sins, we must rise above that lifestyle & culture into a life of power & deliverance. God has so graciously empowered us to live a life of light and liberty. The way we lived we don’t live anymore because we have received His resurrection power through the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of t2:1-5                                                                                                                                                                           1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;                                                               2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:                                    3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,                                               5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved.

What the scriptures are telling us is that following Christ is about a heart full of the Spirit as well as an empty tomb. We can’t do it alone but Christ has given each of us sufficient grace to help us every day to live for Him.

1 Cor 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

It’s a wonderful thing to live a resurrected life in Christ with His Spirit directing us & His grace sustain us every day. Let’s celebrate Easter the way Christ intended by living for Him continually. Remember, if & when we do wrong and make mistakes, Christ is just to forgive us if we confess our faults to Him. Just get back up and conquer the things that are trying to destroy you and your relationship with God. God bless!

AMERICA DESTROYED

AMERICA IS BEING DESTROYED BY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOD’S WORD

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

We would have to be blind not to see how far our nation has drifted from the teaching of the Word of God. This is why politicians, judges, professors, the Pope & etc. aimlessly lead our nation into darkness and debauchery. While these leaders deceive themselves and others because they claim to be Christians while they have no knowledge of the Word of God.

People confuse being religious to being a true Christian. This is the work of Satan to destroy our nation and the souls of mankind. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

When Satan tempted Christ, the Lord’s defense was simple “it is written”. The Bible is the greatest weapon that a child of God possesses. Satan knows that any person or nation that is ignorant of the scriptures is an easy prey to him.

We must have a renewed passion for the Word of God. Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. Job didn’t fail God because he knew the Word. I recently read that 1/3 of British parents thought Harry Potter plotline came from the Bible.

Over 70% of U.S. citizens claim to be Christians, yet someone said “if someone changed the scriptures of supplemented it in any way 95% of the congregation wouldn’t even know it. So why are our streets filled with violence, why are 50% of births are to unwed mothers, or why are men marrying men & women marrying women, plus a host of other devices the Bible speaks loudly against, it’s all because they lack the knowledge that only the Bible can bring.

LTC family & Christians everywhere, let’s get back to the book. Let’s put aside the distractions we have allowed into our lives & return to the Bible with faith and confidence, God’s promises will never fail. Matt 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

POLICE ARE MINISTERS OF GOD

POLICE ARE MINISTERS OF GOD: Romans 13:6 (1-6) For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
I am very concerned about the anti-cop that has been promoted lately. With over 500,000 police officers in America today, I’m sure we could find a shady one somewhere. However, I do not believe that gives anyone the right to label the entire institution as evil & corrupt.
Police officers have a job to enforce the law of the land and when that law is violated or broken then they must act accordingly. These officers don’t serve for the sake of a large pay check, in fact it is sad that they don’t get paid much more than they do for the risk they take every day. I believe a good policeman has a call to serve his city or society in general. I also believe according to the Bible that these men & women are compelled by God to render their services. The Apostle Paul called these public servants “ministers of God.” This doesn’t mean that they preach from pulpits or in churches, but they serve God’s purpose in protecting our lives, homes, schools & etc.
I personally want to give honor to those who risk it all for society’s sake. I honor them and their families just as I do our Vets that serve our country. I think we could all do more to express that appreciation especially to our local law enforcement. They are not against us but rather they are there to “protect and to serve” as I read on a police car.
So if you enjoyed a safe commute from home to work and back today, thank a cop. If your children come home safe from school each day, thank a cop. If your car didn’t get stolen today, thank a cop. If you can lie down and have a peaceful rest tonight, thank a cop. We could go on and on with accolades and praises for these men & women God has sent to protect us and give us a sense of peace as we go about our daily lives and duties.
Let’s do our best to counter this anti-cop attitude and realize how treacherous life would be without our police forces. I’m thankful for each of them & pray for their safety continually & I thank God for allowing my family to be citizens of a nation that has laws and the officers to enforce them. Paul said they are not here to do evil but for good.

CONTINUING STEDFASTLY

THEY CONTINUED STEDFASTLY
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
In such an untoward generation as we now live in it is exciting to know that eternal things never change. The world changes, culture changes, individuals change but the Word of God is forever settled in heaven, and will never change. Ps.119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
In the book of Acts chapter 2 we find the birth of a new church & the beginning of the last days. In said chapter we find that the early church was indeed a one God body that baptized in Jesus name & people received the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues as prophesied centuries before. Also their message wrought many miracles, signs, & wonders. This however wasn’t a temporary religious phenomenon, it was meant to last until the end of the church age. The reason we still preach it & witness these wonders is “they continued steadfastly.”
The LTC family is very blessed to CONTINUE in this great spiritual movement. As they did then we still do today! While mainline denominations falsely claim that all this was just for those in the upper room, yet we see it service after service. As Pastor Anthony Gally preached the word last Sunday evening a refreshing book of Acts event took place. While the Pastor was preaching people started receiving the Holy Ghost & was speaking in tongues. Acts10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. Study your bible and you will find that the way it was then is indeed the way it should be today. Time, traditions of men, or hell itself can’t stop or change God’s holy mandate. For the LTC family and others that CONTINUE to preach the true gospel we shall always see the same results they saw in the book of Acts. God’s word is true & wherever this truth is preached & taught the blessings & revival will CONTINUE.
Pentecost is a God sent experience that will culminate at the rapture of the church. Lord bless you!

WARNED YET UNPREPARED FOR THE STORM

WARNED YET UNPREPARED FOR THE STORM

Our area was visited with an Artic storm this past week and blanketed us with freezing rain & snow. As the temperature dropped far below the freezing mark we were stuck with icy roads and churches canceled throughout the city. Although the weather agencies predicted this storm days in advance, yet when it arrived many were surprised and consequently unprepared for no electricity, food staples, and the road departments telling everyone to stay at home and not get on the roads. Warned yet unprepared! This sounds like another storm we read about in the Bible.                                                                                                                                                 Acts 27:13-15 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete. 14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. 15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. The ship was being destroyed by the hurricane name Euroclydon and the lives of its crew faced certain demise except for a miracle.                                                                             Acts 27:10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.                                                                                                                                                                                                          The warning was given by Apostle Paul not to sail because a storm was coming, yet the owner & captain overruled his godly advice. Jesus promises us in the last days a variety of events will transpire that will be used as indicators of Christ eminent appearing for his rapture ready church and to bring judgment upon a world that resist God’s word. The storms of God’s wrath will far exceed any historical catastrophe. The Word of God warns the masses to flee the coming judgments by getting saved through a born again experience.                                                                                                                                                                                                Matt 3:7-8 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.                                                                                                                                                                                               Rev 3:10-11 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.                                                                                                                                                                            The message of the redemption gift of Christ’s blood has been preached to the ends of the earth for over two thousand years and thankfully probably louder today than in any generation. Why, because God knows the magnitude of human destruction the storm will bring for those who resist His call. It is of the mercies of God that any of us have a chance to be saved because He loves every soul.     2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.                                                                                                                                                                                                   If you are reading this blog then you are once again warned that the storm is coming. If you are ready for the rapture then I encourage you earnestly to stay faithful and don’t join those who are falling by the wayside. For those not ready may I lead you to God’s only salvation plan.                                                                                                                                                                                            Acts 2:38-40 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

THE SECURITY OF TRUTH

THE SECURITY OF TRUTH

I enjoy reading and listening to a variety commentators that share their view with the current events of our present society. Historically, ours is the first generation that has ruled and reigned from off the cuff and every unprecedented whim that comes to their minds. There seems to be little to no credibility to much of the trends we see that are becoming standard ways and means of behavior. However, it is right because they think it is and desire it to be that way. It hasn’t seemed to matter that we have laws that govern our way of life and determine right and wrong in society. Rather than complying to established laws that have been tested by time, they just lobby for politician, judges, & etc. that believe the same as they do and get them voted into office or appointed. This is why we have seen many states vote to stop these radical ideas only to see it fall into the hands of antiestablishment judges that overrule the voter’s choice to accommodate those who are bent on change regardless of the price to society. Through this procedures we have seen our once “One nation under God” turn into a Bible hating, prayer forbidding, antichrist country. This is why abortion on demand is the law today just as same sex marriages. The vast majority of voters objects to these practices and support the laws that forbade them in this nation for over 200 years. It doesn’t really matter what the truth is to these activist, it’s just how they feel about it that counts. One writer recently wrote “facts don’t matter anymore” it’s just however you feel. All of this is a recipe for sure failure and massive complications in our future. The scriptures plainly speak of the consequences for any nation or people that violate God’s principals.

Ps 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.                                                                                                                                                                                                            The laws that governed our country were founded upon the basis of God’s word. They have stood the test of time because they are established truths and not mere vile ideas and philosophies of the degenerate of the last days. Facts ladies and gentlemen do matter and only truth will prevail    ultimately.                                                                                                                                                                                                       Jer. 10:23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

One agnostic boldly declared recently that Christianity will become extinct. Voltaire made a similar statement over 200 years ago but he is long gone to meet his maker and Christianity is still very much alive and well. Why, because it is based upon truth and only truth will stand.Trials, tests, persecution, and hard times may come but to every child of God we stand secure knowing that we have done our best to stand for truth and in this wicked generation Truth will stand with us.                                                                             Heb. 13:5 I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
