POLICE ARE MINISTERS OF GOD

POLICE ARE MINISTERS OF GOD: Romans 13:6 (1-6) For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
I am very concerned about the anti-cop that has been promoted lately. With over 500,000 police officers in America today, I’m sure we could find a shady one somewhere. However, I do not believe that gives anyone the right to label the entire institution as evil & corrupt.
Police officers have a job to enforce the law of the land and when that law is violated or broken then they must act accordingly. These officers don’t serve for the sake of a large pay check, in fact it is sad that they don’t get paid much more than they do for the risk they take every day. I believe a good policeman has a call to serve his city or society in general. I also believe according to the Bible that these men & women are compelled by God to render their services. The Apostle Paul called these public servants “ministers of God.” This doesn’t mean that they preach from pulpits or in churches, but they serve God’s purpose in protecting our lives, homes, schools & etc.
I personally want to give honor to those who risk it all for society’s sake. I honor them and their families just as I do our Vets that serve our country. I think we could all do more to express that appreciation especially to our local law enforcement. They are not against us but rather they are there to “protect and to serve” as I read on a police car.
So if you enjoyed a safe commute from home to work and back today, thank a cop. If your children come home safe from school each day, thank a cop. If your car didn’t get stolen today, thank a cop. If you can lie down and have a peaceful rest tonight, thank a cop. We could go on and on with accolades and praises for these men & women God has sent to protect us and give us a sense of peace as we go about our daily lives and duties.
Let’s do our best to counter this anti-cop attitude and realize how treacherous life would be without our police forces. I’m thankful for each of them & pray for their safety continually & I thank God for allowing my family to be citizens of a nation that has laws and the officers to enforce them. Paul said they are not here to do evil but for good.
