FAMILIAR ATTITUDES

ATTITUDES THAT ARE FAR TOO FAMILIAR

Being a minister for many years it is very difficult to deviate from my religious blogs & writings. If you my readers could indulge me somewhat and allow me to express my humble opinion on some of the news events of today.

First let me say I appreciate the various police forces we have active in America today. Recent research tells us that in America there are approximately 500,000 law enforcers comprising of local, city, county, state, & Federal government men & women hired to protect us in various forms. There are over 307 million residents in the U.S. so that leaves approximately 306,712,123 for these officers to protect & enforce the law.

I am not defending any officer that does wrong or oversteps their boundaries, yet there are many more who sacrifice greatly to help us to have a safe place to life & our children to attend school. I have pastored for nearly 40 years and I have seen my share of preachers who failed to live up to their calling. This is always sad and in every case I’ve seen of it happening, many were hurt in some way. Yet, I’m so glad I didn’t lose confidence in every preacher because the bible says we can’t be saved without a preacher. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard, and how shall they hear without a preacher? If I might add “how can we be safe without a police force?”

I am concerned that the anti-cop movement that has occupied our nation the past couple of years goes much deeper than overreacting policemen. This movement implemented largely by our current political ideologies and an excessive liberal news broadcasting system that fans any and all anti-America flames, whether they be true or false.

My opinion is that it’s for the sake of destroying capitalism & replace it with the ever failing socialism. For this to transpire they must first destroy the police force as we know it and replace it with a social form of policing. Some call it marshal law but the wise ones call it a tragic mistake and a miscarriage of true law enforcement. Uncle Sam (Government) is now known as “Big Brother” and will soon if not stopped become our King.

I regret this action that our government & judicial systems are taking against good men & women that work long hours for a very small wage by comparison to other professions and maligning their character in hopes of replacing them with a military type force that answers only to those who are in political control. I have witnessed this style of policing in other countries and believe me we don’t need it in America.

We have all been annoyed by those who attempt to comfort us by saying things like “I know what it’s like or I know what you’re going through.” Now I find myself doing that when I tell these officers of the law that risk their lives every hour on the job, sacrifice their families & many other treasures just to do a good job serving us. No I’ve never been a police officer or detective but I was placed in a situation as a young man drafted into the Army. Myself, and hundreds of thousands of other young men & a few women then, went to Viet Nam leaving everything behind because our nation needed us. There were nearly 60,000 combat deaths and thousand more died on their way to MASH units or hospitals. Only God knows the total of those wounded, maimed, & physiologically damaged by their sacrifices because they needed us. Then when the political winds shifted through the schools, universities, & streets of our country, suddenly we the soldiers became the enemies. Our nation abhorred the returning vets and instead of bands and parades, it was mockery and ridicule. It was rotten tomatoes instead of flowers that we received. It’s been over 40 years since I returned home to a different country. We did our best and many gave the supreme sacrifice while draft dodgers became presidents, senators, congressmen, & etc. I didn’t understand it then & I don’t understand it today, I quote POGO “we have met the enemy and the enemy is us.” So again I must say to our police force “I know what you’re going through.”

Don’t be fooled in the smoke screen of racism it is just another vehicle for the tyrants to ride so we won’t so easily recognize them. Stop allowing news reports to divide us and realize what it really is. Al Sharpton recently said that we should just do away with the police, if I had a rap sheet as long as his I would probably want to get rid of the police also, not to mention owing the IRS $5,000,000.00 of unpaid taxes. However in the recent past it seems that he has spent more time at the Whitehouse than Mr. Biden the Vice President. Can we just wonder why?

I don’t if, nor when our nation will ever pull out of this mire we are in but I know we need God more than ever before. 2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
