WARNED YET UNPREPARED FOR THE STORM
Our area was visited with an Artic storm this past week and blanketed us with freezing rain & snow. As the temperature dropped far below the freezing mark we were stuck with icy roads and churches canceled throughout the city. Although the weather agencies predicted this storm days in advance, yet when it arrived many were surprised and consequently unprepared for no electricity, food staples, and the road departments telling everyone to stay at home and not get on the roads. Warned yet unprepared! This sounds like another storm we read about in the Bible. Acts 27:13-15 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete. 14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. 15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. The ship was being destroyed by the hurricane name Euroclydon and the lives of its crew faced certain demise except for a miracle. Acts 27:10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. The warning was given by Apostle Paul not to sail because a storm was coming, yet the owner & captain overruled his godly advice. Jesus promises us in the last days a variety of events will transpire that will be used as indicators of Christ eminent appearing for his rapture ready church and to bring judgment upon a world that resist God’s word. The storms of God’s wrath will far exceed any historical catastrophe. The Word of God warns the masses to flee the coming judgments by getting saved through a born again experience. Matt 3:7-8 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance. Rev 3:10-11 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. The message of the redemption gift of Christ’s blood has been preached to the ends of the earth for over two thousand years and thankfully probably louder today than in any generation. Why, because God knows the magnitude of human destruction the storm will bring for those who resist His call. It is of the mercies of God that any of us have a chance to be saved because He loves every soul. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. If you are reading this blog then you are once again warned that the storm is coming. If you are ready for the rapture then I encourage you earnestly to stay faithful and don’t join those who are falling by the wayside. For those not ready may I lead you to God’s only salvation plan. Acts 2:38-40 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
